Hello, I’m Eric Mikowski and welcome to my site. If you’re reading this page then you probably want to know a little more about me.
I’m a health physicist by trade and like to learn, teach, and build things – which is why I started FPV for Me.
Although this site is geared towards the beginner FPV RC enthusiast, experienced pilots might find some useful information.
A lot of information may be found on message boards, but sometimes it’s nice not to have to sift through one or two sentence posts or unrelated comments to find what you’re looking for.
The FPV Links page provides information on popular vendors, internet personalities, and useful message board sites relevant to RC, FPV, and wireless video communication in general.
I update this site about once every couple of weeks with new material.
How I Got Started in FPV
When I was a kid, I remember wanting an RC helicopter. Unfortunately, everybody told me they were “too expensive”, “too difficult to fly”, or “for experienced adults.” Besides the odd garage sale RC electric car and an old Tyco Typhoon hovercraft, I didn’t get very far into the RC hobby.
In the fall of 2012, after watching some fascinating videos of FPV flying on YouTube, I finally decided to jump in.
I bought a BEVRC Skywalker, read a lot, and within about 6 months got the hang of things. But there was a lot of failure along the way.
This site will hopefully help others avoid some of the initial problems I faced, save some money by not buying junk, and have more success – faster.
